Guidelines for providing a constructive and timely peer review.
Invitation to Review
Reviewers are invited by the editor based on their expertise in the subject area of the manuscript. The invitation will include the manuscript's abstract to help the reviewer decide whether the topic is within their area of interest and expertise. We ask that you respond to the invitation as promptly as possible.
Reviewer Responsibilities
As a reviewer for JRRS, you are expected to:
- Provide a thorough, objective, and constructive review of the manuscript.
- Submit your review within the specified timeframe to ensure a timely decision process.
- Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and the review process.
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest that could affect your impartiality.
Conducting the Review
Please consider the following aspects when reviewing a manuscript:
- Originality and Novelty: Does the work present new and significant findings?
- Methodology: Is the research methodology sound and appropriate for the study?
- Results: Are the results clearly presented and do they support the conclusions?
- Clarity and Language: Is the manuscript well-written and easy to understand?
- References: Are the citations relevant and up-to-date?
Writing the Report
Your review report should be structured to provide clear feedback to both the editor and the authors. Please provide:
- Summary: A brief summary of the manuscript and your overall impression.
- Major Comments: Any significant concerns regarding the study's design, methodology, or conclusions.
- Minor Comments: Suggestions for improving clarity, grammar, and formatting.
- Confidential Comments to the Editor: Any concerns about potential ethical issues or other matters you wish to raise privately with the editor.
